Inquant Lanches Skype WiFi Handset and Skype on Mobiles

It is now possible to pre-order the first WiFi handset with Skype in the United Kingdom, the Netgear WiFi Skype Handset, from Inquant. They are also offering the IP Drum Mobile Skype Cables which enable making and receiving Skype calls on Nokia or Sony Ericsson Mobile Phones connected to your PC.

The Netgear device will combine the best of Internet calling and wireless. The Netgear phone is pre-loaded with Skype’s software, ready out-of-the-box to use with a WiFi network. All a user needs to do after turning on the phone is enter a Skype username and password. The Skype software pulls up the user’s full contact list, displays the connection status on the phone screen, and allows the consumer to connect to any other Skype user for free. The phone will also allow users to connect to non-Skype users with the SkypeOut™ feature. Preorders are being taken already at www.inquant.co.uk

The IP Drum Mobile Skype Cable connects a Nokia or Sony Ericsson mobile phone to your computer creating a gateway from Skype to the mobile network. Incoming Skype calls are then automatically forwarded through the mobile phone connected to your computer to the mobile phone you are carrying with you. You can make Skype or Skype Out calls just as easy simply by calling the gateway.
